Blues Classics Album Discography

The Blues Classics label was one of several labels Chris Strachwitz of Arhoolie Records founded to reissue older music from 78 rpm singles. He had collected this material all his life, and from his collection, sometimes augmented with rare releases from other collectors, he has presented a wide range of music styles and historically important performers.

Most, if not all, of the labels on the original pressings are blue with black print (far left). Many issues also are known with grey labels with black print as shown at near left. These grey labels are thought to be second pressings, but may just be pressings at a different plant, since most releases with the grey labels are also known to exist with blue labels.
