JEMF Album Discography
By David Edwards and Mike Callahan
Last update: July 27, 2025

JEMF was an acronym of the John Edwards Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to perpetuating the musical interests of noted folklorist John Edwards. Arhoolie acted as distributor for the releases.

Typically, these albums also contained well-researched booklets (some more than 30 pages) with lots of information about the artists.

The first label, used for 101 and 102, was blue with black print (far left). When these two albums were reissued in 1978, the label changed to pale green with black print, with the design more reflective of later albums.
JEMF used the same basic design for their later albums, with several different colors. 104 (far left) had a dark gold label, while most of the later albums up until 110 had a beige label (center left). The last couple of albums, 110 and 111, used a yellow-green label (near let).
